41-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Collision near Peace Way
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 21, 2023) – Early Friday morning, Andrew Irving was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Fort Apache Road.
Police responded to the scene around 5:05 a.m., near Peace Way between Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue on September 8th.
Officers say the driver of a southbound white Jeep Wrangler with a black roof and black rimes struck Irving while he was walking in the southbound lanes.
Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced 41-year-old Irving dead.
Following preliminary duties, police were able to locate and arrested the suspect, 30-year-old Denise Velez for hit-and-run charges. She was taken into the Clark County Detention Center.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
