Carlos Gutierrez-Tinsley Dies in Bicycle Accident on Southeast Kent-Kangley Road [Kent, WA]
27-Year-Old Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Bicycle Collision near 132nd Street
KENT, WA (September 20, 2023) – Wednesday morning, Carlos Guitierrez was fatally struck in a bicycle accident on Southeast Kent-Kangley Road.
The incident occurred around 5:42 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the road near 132nd Avenue on August 30th.
Per reports, the driver of a box-truck struck a cyclist who was riding in the area. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene due to multiple blunt force injuries.
Authorities later identified the deceased victim as 27-year-old Gutierrez-Tinsley, of Kent.
Meanwhile, the driver of the box-truck, a 41-year-old Covington man, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Emergency crews blocked all lanes of Southeast Kent-Kangley Road during cleanup and preliminary duties. Police later reopened all lanes just before 9:00 a.m.
