Pedestrian Killed in Deadly Vehicle Crash on Loop 101 [Glendale, AZ]
Pedestrian Struck by Two Vehicles near Cardinals Way Exit Dead
GLENDALE, AZ (September 19, 2023) – Late Saturday evening, one person was killed following a pedestrian vs vehicle crash on Loop 101.
The incident happened on September 9th around 11:45 p.m. near the Cardinals Way exit involving a pedestrian and two vehicles.
Investigation showed that walked across the northbound lanes of the highway when he was struck by the first vehicle. Moments later after the first collision, a second driver struck the pedestrian inflicting more damage.
Consequently, the first responders arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian with critical wounds. The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
Furthermore, both vehicles remained at the scene and they cooperated with the authorities. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, the identity of the pedestrian was not yet disclosed by the authorities.
Meanwhile, the authorities blocked all lanes of the highway, but it has reopened since around 4:00 a.m. An active investigation is still ongoing.
