47-Year-Old Driver Arrested after Pedestrian Collision near Moss Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 19, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, Mao Ernesto Arias was arrested after a fatal pedestrian crash on Meacham Road.
Authorities responded to the scene around 2:38 a.m., at the 9500 block of Meacham Road near Moss Street.
Per reports, the driver of a westbound vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking in the same direction.
Paramedics arrived and took the pedestrian to a nearby hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
Police later arrested the driver for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. 47-year-old Mao Ernesto Arias is currently being held on a $120,000 bail.
