Man Fatally Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Huntwood Avenue [Hayward, CA]
Man Pronounced Dead after Fatal Three-Vehicle Collision near Schafer Road
HAYWARD, CA (September 19, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, one man was fatally injured in a hit-and-run crash on Huntwood Avenue.
The incident occurred around 12:50 a.m., at the 27000 block of Huntwood Avenue near Schafer Road
Upon arrival, officers discovered two vehicles in the wreckage. A third vehicle was later determined to be involved, but fled the scene before police arrived.
Medics say the sole occupant of the first vehicle remained unharmed. However, authorities discovered the driver of the second vehicle unconscious before he eventually succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities later found the third vehicle abandoned a short distance away from the scene. Police are asking those with additional information regarding the Huntwood Avenue hit-and-run to contact the traffic bureau at 510-293-7066.
At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
