Elder Bardales Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run on Highland Avenue [Hollywood, CA]
Driver Arrested after Fatal Pedestrian Crash near Fountain Avenue
HOLLYWOOD, CA (September 19, 2023) – Sunday night, Elder Bardales was fatally struck in a hit-and-run collision on Highland Avenue.
The deadly collision happened around 10:00 p.m. along Highland Ave. near Fountain Avenue.
According to the LAPD, a motorist traveling southbound on Highland hit the man walking in an easterly direction.
However, the driver did not pull over and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Responding medical personnel declared the male pedestrian dead at the scene and set up a tent at the No. 2 lane. Later, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified the victim as 57-year-old Elder Bardales.
After a short while, police managed to catch up and arrest the driver. His identity remains undisclosed to the public.
