2 Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on State Route 16 [Tacoma, WA]
Two Occupants Pronounced Dead after Car Accident near Toll Plaza
TACOMA, WA (September 19, 2023) – Friday afternoon, two victims were killed in two-vehicle accident on State Route 16.
Authorities responded to the scene on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near the Tolla Plaza on September 1st.
Per reports, the driver of a white Ford and a black Chevrolet were approaching the toll plaza when they collided. Upon impact, the Chevy was pushed into a booth at the plaza, causing fatal injuries to both occupants.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the driver of the Ford to Tacoma General Hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries.
During cleanup and preliminary duties, authorities blocked the toll plaza and authorities directed motorists through eastbound SR 16. The toll plaza was said to be operable at 6:25 p.m. and motorists were able to use it again.
