44-Year-Old Clovis Woman Found Dead After Crash Near Highway 166

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 18, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, Kalliope Kione Mediciano was declared dead following a pedestrian vs vehicle accident along Highway 99. 

The deadly collision happened around 12:20 a.m. at Speedway Gas Station on the 2000 block of Mettler Frontage Road. 

According to the initial report, a woman was struck by a vehicle in the area. However, officers determined that the victim was not hit by a vehicle. 

Eventually, the Kern County Coroner’s office identified the deceased woman as 44-year-old Kalliope Kione Mediciano of Clovis. Moreover, a portion of the roadway was temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, authorities are waiting for an autopsy report to determine the cause and the manner of her death.
