Auto-Pedestrian Collision Near Odessa Way Left Woman Dead

OAKDALE, CA (September 14, 2023) – Monday evening, a female pedestrian was fatally struck in a crash involving a vehicle on Highway 108. 

Police received reports of the collision around 9:20 p.m. on Highway 108, just east of Odessa Way.

According to the investigators, an eastbound Cadillac in the No.1 lane hit the pedestrian crossing from the south roadway edge. The impact of the crash sent the pedestrian into the two-way left turn lane between the east and westbound lanes of Highway 108. 

Emergency responders pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the scene. However, her identity has not been released to the public, pending notification from her next of kin. 

At this time, the California Highway Patrol is working to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
