Pedestrian Crash Near Streamview Drive Left 70-Year-Old Man with Serious Injuries

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 14, 2023) – Sunday evening, a hit-and-run on College Avenue in Redwood Village sent an elderly man to a hospital.

The incident happened around 7:43 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan hit the man walking in a westerly direction on College Avenue. 

According to the investigators, a sedan turning left from westbound Streamview Drive struck the pedestrian in a marked crosswalk. 

However, the sedan driver did not pull over and fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Responding medical personnel transported the 70-year-old male pedestrian to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. 

Authorities temporarily shut down a portion of the roadway for cleanup and preliminary duties but has since been reopened.

Police have not provided additional information about the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. San Diego Officials will provide more information about the College Avenue hit-and-run once available.
