47-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on East Hillsdale Boulevard
SAN MATEO, CA (September 13, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, Zachary Edwards was arrested after a hit-and-run collision on Curtiss Street.
The incident occurred around 4:55 p.m., near East Hillsdale Boulevard.
Per reports, the driver of a white Toyota Tacoma struck a male pedestrian and immediately fled the scene.
Paramedics arrived and transported the 41-year-old male victim to a hospital where he remains in critical condition. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.
Following preliminary duties, authorities managed to obtain the license plate of the Tacoma from witnesses. As a result, San Mateo Police Department officers arrested 47-year-old Edwards, of Rio Vista for hit-and-run charges.
Edwards is currently being held in San Mateo County Jail on a $50,000 bail. San Mateo Police is asking anyone with further information about the crash to contact them at 650-522-7700.
