Bicycle-Auto Collision near Dinah Shore Drive Injures 91-Year-Old Man

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 13, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a bicyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Cathedral Canyon Drive. 

Officers responded to Cathedral Canyon Drive near Dinah Shore Drive around 3:15 a.m. after reports of a collision between a bicycle and a vehicle. 

Upon arrival, police discovered the man unresponsive at the scene and suffering from severe injuries. Eventually, medical responders transported him to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition. 

In the end, officials closed Cathedral Canyon Drive between Dinah Shore Drive and Paseo Real for several hours. 

Authorities do not have a description of the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle at this time. The Cathedral City Police Department is following up on leads to identify the driver who fled the scene.
