65-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Accident on Avenue 15

MADERA, CA (September 13, 2023) – Monday evening, one man was fatally struck in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Tozer Street.

Per reports, an off-duty police officer located a man lying on the ground around 8:40 p.m., near Avenue 15 on September 4th.

Officers say a male pedestrian was attempting to cross Avenue 15 from the east side of Tozer Road. There, the driver of a passing vehicle struck the man and immediately fled the scene.

Paramedics arrived and transported the 65-year-old male pedestrian to Valley Children’s Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway. Once available, further details will be provided.
