Anthony Francone Killed in Police Chase along State Route 446 [Nixon, NV]
33-Year-Old Man Crashed into a Police Vehicle Killing an Officer
NIXON, NV (September 8, 2023) – On Friday evening, a police chase occurred that left Anthony Francone dead.
The incident happened along State Route 446 near mile marker 11 when Officer Francone started a chase on a suspect at around 7:30 p.m., August 25th.
According to Pyramid Lake Fire Chief Don Pelt, the suspect struck the vehicle of Officer Francone, which resulted in him shooting the suspect.
Furthermore, the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Nolan Ray. Both Officer Francone and Ray were pronounced dead at the scene.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
Moreover, the authorities have yet to discover the manner of death of both deceased. An active investigation is underway.
