Two-Vehicle Collision on Barker Cypress Left One Dead

HARRIS COUNTY, TX (September 7, 2023) – Thursday morning, a two-car crash on Highway 290 left one person dead.

Officers responded to the scene at around 6:29 a.m., on Highway 290 near Barker Cypress.

For reasons currently unknown, two vehicles collided while traveling on Highway 290.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the collision shortly after. There, they pronounced one person dead at the scene.

Following the crash, officials shut down the areas of the road surrounding the crash. Crews then performed cleanup and preliminary duties before reopening.

The authorities ruled out intoxication as a factor in the rear-end crash.

At this time, officials have not released any more details regarding the two-car crash on Highway 290. However, police will release more information once it becomes available.
