Bird Scooter Accident near Canteria Drive Resulted in Serious Injuries

BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 7, 2023) – Wednesday night, an SUV-scooter collision on Highway 178 left one person hospitalized.

Police responded to the incident on August 30th, at around 8:00 p.m., at the intersection of Highway 178 and Canteria Drive. 

Upon arrival, officers determined that a man riding a Bird scooter entered 178 and pulled in front of the vehicle going eastbound. 

Responding medical personnel transported the man to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. 

Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
