Man Pronounced Dead after Coaster Train Accident near West Washington Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 7, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a man was fatally struck in a bicycle vs train collision on Pacific Highway.

The incident occurred around 3:25 p.m., near West Washington Street.

Per reports, a male cyclist was riding along the tracks when a northbound Coaster Train struck him.

Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced the male bicyclist dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released his identity.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, the San Diego Sheriff’s Transit Enforcement Unit is leading the investigation.
