Two-Car Collision on East Flamingo Road Left Teenager Dead and Police Officer Hurt
LAS VEGAS, NV (September 7, 2023) – Monday evening, Gene Daniel Ashley-Aragon was killed in a two-vehicle crash on South Boulder Highway.
The deadly collision happened at around 6:19 p.m., near the intersection of South Boulder Highway and East Flamingo Road.
According to reports, the marked LVMPD patrol car was stopped in the left travel lane facing southbound on Boulder Highway. The light turned green and the cruiser pulled into the intersection and, there, struck a Buick LeSabre, driven by Ashley-Aragon, traveling westbound on Flamingo Road.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the collision shortly after. Officials pronounced 17-year-old Gene Daniel Ashley-Aragon dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, medical responders rushed the police officer to a hospital for further treatment.
Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
