Two-Vehicle Crash near Sunrise Boulevard Left Motorcyclist Dead

CITRUS HEIGHTS, CA (September 6, 2023) – Late Monday morning, a motorcycle-truck collision on Greenback Lane left one person fatally injured.

Officials received reports of the collision around 11:08 a.m. near the intersection of Greenback Lane and Sunrise Boulevard.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they discovered a heavily damage truck and motorcycle. Medical responders immediately transported the motorcyclist to a hospital where they unfortunately succumbed to their injuries. 

Meanwhile, the uninjured truck driver and their passenger remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

In the end, authorities closed all the westbound lanes on Greenback Lane at Arcadia Drive for several hours for investigation. Both roadways were reopened shortly after.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the deceased rider’s identity once the next of kin has been notified.
