Joshua Ivie Arrested after Deadly Hit-and-Run Collision near Grant Road and Jones Road
HARRIS COUNTY, TX (September 5, 2023) – Sunday night, Carolee Dwer was killed in a hit-and-run crash on West Cypress Forest Drive.
The incident happened on August 27th, at around 9:00 a.m., at the 13800 block of West Cypress Forest Drive near Grant Road and Jones Road.
According to reports, a Ford Explorer was speeding in the area when the driver lost control. The vehicle veered off the road and struck a Dwer as she was crossing the street. The SUV continued forward into a house causing Dwer to become pinned between the house and the automobile.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after. They pronounce 44-year-old Carolee Dwer dead at the scene.
After the collision, the driver of the Ford, 33-year-old Joshua Ivie, allegedly escaped on foot while carrying a weapon. About a mile away, K9 deputies were able to locate him and make an arrest.
