2 Fatally Struck in Two-Vehicle Collision near Thorndale
MILAM COUNTY, TX (September 1, 2023) – Sunday morning, Tyesha Nikole Tanner and a teen boy were killed in a 2-car accident on FM 486.
The incident occurred around 10:40 a.m., just north of Thorndale.
According to reports, a woman was driving a 2012 Kia Sorento south on FM-486. She then stopped to allow traffic to pass before making a left turn into a church parking lot.
There, the driver of a 2016 Dodge Ram rear-ended the Kia. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced both occupants inside the Kia Sorento dead at the scene.
Police later identified the deceased victims as 42-year-old Tanner, of Georgetown and a 14-year-old boy.
Authorities closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, police ruled out alcohol or drugs as potential factors.
No words can mend the broken hearts and sorrow felt during this delicate moment. Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of Tyesha Nikole Tanner and the teen boy.
