Two-Vehicle Collision near Golden Eagle Way Kills 33-Year-Old Driver
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (August 31, 2023) – Saturday morning, a rear-end collision on Pierson Boulevard claimed the life of William Shack IV.
The fatal crash happened at around 9:50 a.m. near the intersection of Pierson Boulevard and Golden Eagle Way.
According to reports, a westbound silver Toyota Camry approached a four-way intersection and collided with the back of a white-colored Honda Odyssey. The Honda was stopped at a traffic light on westbound Pierson Boulevard. Investigators believed that the Toyota driver suffered a medical emergency and failed to stop the vehicle on time.
Responding paramedics transported the Toyota driver to Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died. Later, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased man as 33-year-old William Shack IV of Desert Hot Springs.
Additionally, police said the 40-year-old Honda driver and his 5-year-old child passenger did not require medical treatment.
