29-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after DUI Accident on Chester Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 28, 2023) – Sunday, Luis Esquivel was arrested and Tony Preciado was killed in a DUI collision on California Avenue.
Authorities responded to the scene around 10:39 p.m., near Chester Avenue.
Per reports, the driver of a northbound sedan was struck by a westbound pickup-truck in the area.
Medics arrived and transported a passenger inside the sedan, 29-year-old Preciado, of Bakersfield to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Meanwhile, 48-year-old Luis Esquivel remained uninjured and officers arrested him. Following preliminary duties, police determined that alcohol played a factor in the incident.
