Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Southern Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (August 25, 2023) – Sunday evening, one man was killed and a woman was hurt in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on 39th Avenue.
The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., near Southern Avenue on August 13th.
Per reports, the driver of a vehicle struck a man and a woman in the area, leaving them with life-threatening injuries.
Upon impact, the involved driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting authorities.
Paramedics arrived and transported the man and woman to a nearby hospital where the man later succumbed to his injuries. Although, police have not yet released his identity.
Following preliminary duties, officers believe the suspect vehicle may be a Dodge Journey 2009-2020 or Chrysler Pacifica 2004-2008. However, an active investigation into the fatal pedestrian crash on 39th Avenue is still currently underway.
