64-Year-Old Man Badly Hurt after Vehicle Accident on Somerset Hills Avenue
LAS VEGAS, NV (August 24, 2023) – Monday night, a vehicle collision on Jones Boulevard left a man critically injured, police said.
The incident happened on August 14th just before 5:00 p.m. involving a 2009 Hyundai Elantra and a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, per initial reports.
Preliminary investigation showed that the Hyundai was traveling westbound on Somerset Hills Avenue, and stopped at a red light.
Furthermore, the Hyundai failed to yield the right-of-way and collided with the Chevy headed northbound on Jones Boulevard.
In addition, both vehicles obtained significant damages due to the Chevy hitting the side of the Hyundai.
Consequently, responding paramedics transported the 64-year-old driver of the Hyundai to UMC in critical condition. Also, the 9-year-old passenger was taken in for treatment, where she was later released.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the Chevy suffered minor injuries, and they refused any other medical treatment.
Moreover, police stated the Chevy driver showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with the investigation.
Further investigation is still being done by the LVMPD Collision Investigations Section.
