Victim Fatally Struck in Train Accident near Whipple Avenue

REDWOOD CITY, CA (August 11, 2023) – Early Tuesday afternoon, one victim was fatally struck in a train collision near Whipple Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m., after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to reports, one person was struck by southbound Caltrans No. 116. However, the events leading up to the collision still remain unclear.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one victim dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details will be provided.
