37-Year-Old Public Works Employee Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle on Watson Street

LODI, CA (August 7, 2023) – Thursday morning, police responded to a work-involved crash that claimed the life of Ben Gloff.

The incident took place at the intersection of Central Avenue and Watson Street at around 7:30 a.m., August 3rd.

According to the Lodi Police Department, 37-year-old Gloff was working at the intersection during that time when a vehicle slammed into him.

Furthermore, Gloff was immediately taken to the hospital but he succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Consequently, the driver involved stayed at the scene and he cooperated with the investigating authorities.

Meanwhile, the officers assessed the driver, and alcohol or drugs were not suspected as the factor in the crash.
