Wrong-Way Collision near Sepulveda Boulevard Left 1 Dead and 4 Injured

VAN NUYS, CA (August 4, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a woman was killed and four others were transported to a hospital following a head-on crash on Saticoy Street.

The fatal collision happened around 3:45 a.m. at Saticoy St. near Sepulveda Boulevard in the Van Nuys neighborhood.

According to the police, a westbound white Ford Mustang on Saticoy Street lost control while going at a high rate of speed. As a result, the Mustang veered over the solid double yellow lines and collided with a gray Audi.

Unfortunately, the female passenger occupying the front seat of the Mustang sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported four other victims; an 11-year-old girl, a 30-year-old woman, and two 21-year-old men, to a hospital with significant injuries. Reports indicated that the four patients are expected to survive.

Additionally, police arrested the unidentified Mustang driver for suspicion of driving under the influence.

At this time, the deceased woman’s identity has not been released by the authorities, pending notification from her next of kin. Los Angeles officials will provide more information about the fatal head-on crash once available.
