Three-Wheeled Motorcycle Crash near Selena Lane Kills 68-Year-Old Man
LAKESIDE, CA (August 2, 2023) – Monday evening, a three-wheel motorcycle crash on Serena Road claimed the life of Richard Taylor and left a 2-year-old child injured.
The incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. along the eastbound Serena Road, just west of Selena Lane.
According to the investigators, a three-wheel 1984 red Honda 250SX missed a curve while traveling east along the roadway.
Consequently, the motorcycle went off the road and ejected the two occupants. Police said neither of the two occupants was wearing protective gear.
Responding CHP officers declared the male rider dead at the scene. Later, he was as 68-year-old Richard Taylor of Lakeside.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported his 2-year-old son to Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is working to determine whether drugs or alcohol contributed to the crash.
