Two-Vehicle DUI Crash near Bell Road Left Officer Injured

PHOENIX, AZ (August 1, 2023) – Friday night, an officer was injured following a DUI crash near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Bell Road.

The incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m., July 28th, when the police officer was headed eastbound on Bell Road and entered the intersection of 7th Avenue.

Furthermore, a driver turned in front of the officer and caused a collision.

Consequently, paramedics were called to the scene and they transported the officer to a hospital. She has since been released.

Following the crash, officials assessed the other involved driver and determined that he was driving under the influence.

Further investigation is still underway and authorities processed the driver for DUI as the factor of the incident.
