Man Killed in Pedestrian-Auto Collision on Highway 13 [Oakland, CA]
Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles Near Park Boulevard On-Ramp
OAKLAND, CA (August 1, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, a pedestrian-auto collision on Highway 13 involving two vehicles left a man dead.
The incident happened on July 30th, at around 1:17 a.m., along Highway 13 near Park Boulevard.
After receiving reports of a man crawling near the Park Boulevard onramp, police were dispatched to the area.
Upon arrival, the CHP learned that the man was walking in the lanes of Highway 13. There, two vehicles struck him, leaving him with fatal injuries. One of the cars involved was identified to be a black Toyota Corolla.
First responders declared the man dead at the scene. At around 1:33 a.m., the Oakland Fire Department confirmed the fatality. Currently, the identity of the male pedestrian remains undisclosed to the public.
The two involved drivers stayed and cooperated with the authorities. Police do not suspect intoxication to be a factor in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol reopened the southbound lanes of Highway 13 at 3:38 a.m.
