32-Year-Old Man Arrested after Deadly Hit-and-Run Collision near Shields Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (July 28, 2023) – Wednesday night, Santiago Ambriz-Cervantez was arrested after a fatal pedestrian crash on Bishop Avenue.

Authorities responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m., near Shields Avenue after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

Per reports, Ambriz-Cervantez was driving and struck a pedestrian in the area. Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid or contacting police.

A witness followed Ambriz-Cervantez to Floyd Avenue where he was eventually arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for felony hit-and-run.
