Male Occupant Hospitalized after Plunging Down Cliff on Mount Wilson
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 24, 2023) – Late Friday night, a man was saved by his Iphone after a single-vehicle crash on Mount Wilson Road.
Around 10:30 p.m., police were alerted about a crash on Mount Wilson Road from crash detection technology on the victim’s iphone.
Shortly after, dispatchers located a man that was yelling for help and a vehicle about 400 feet down a cliff in the area. A Los Angeles Fire Department Air Operations helicopter then hoisted the male driver to safety.
Medics say the man was bleeding from the head and might not have survived without the safety technology. A signal was sent out to authorities with his exact location, allowing crews to quickly locate him.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway. Once available, more information will be provided.
