50-Year-Old Man Arrested after Deadly Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Accident near Interstate 5
CARLSBAD, CA (July 21, 2023) – Saturday morning, Andrew Bryan Dean was arrested after a fatal hit-and-run collision on Pointsettia Lane.
Police responded to the scene around 2:25 a.m., near Interstate 5.
According to reports, the driver of a white Toyota Prius was heading south on I-5 towards the Pointsettia Lane on-ramp. There, the Toyota struck a male pedestrian and immediately fled the scene.
First responders arrived and pronounced the 20-year-old male victim from Texas dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
Following preliminary duties, police located and arrested 50-year-old Dean for suspicion of felony hit-and-run. Officers booked him into the Vista Detention Facility.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
