Dog on the Loose Struck and Bit Responding Officer and Man

PHOENIX, AZ (July 19, 2023) – Saturday morning, an officer and another man were injured following a dog attack near 7th Avenue.

On July 15th, at around 7:45 a.m., an animal on the loose was reported near the area of 7th and Atlanta Avenues, just west of Central Avenue.

Furthermore, the investigation showed that a man was bitten by a dog in his home and the animal had not yet calmed down.

Eventually, an officer was dispatched and he arrived at the location where he was attacked by the dog.

Unfortunately, the officer was left with no choice but to open fire and he shot the dog. The dog died at the house.

Consequently, paramedics arrived at the scene and transported both the man and the officer to the hospital for treatment.

At this time, no arrests have been made and an active investigation into the dog attack incident is still underway.
