Damon Herbert Killed in Motorcycle Crash on State Road 104 [San Miguel County, NM]
46-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dead after Colliding with Truck near Trementina
SAN MIGUEL COUNTY, NM (July 17, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a motorcycle crash on State Road 104 left Damon Herbert dead.
The incident took place on State Route 104 near Trementina just before 12:30 p.m., on July 12th.
According to the New Mexico State Police, 46-year-old Herbert was riding his motorcycle on eastbound State Route 104 when he crashed into a 2008 Dodge pickup truck ahead of him.
The investigation showed that the Dodge slowed down to make a left turn and Herbert could not slow down in time. As a result, he collided with the side of the Dodge which caused him to suffer extreme injuries.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the site of the crash shortly after. There, officials pronounced 46-year-old Damon Herbert dead at the scene.
At this time, no other details were released and the New Mexico State Police is handling the investigation.
