Two Killed in Vehicle-Motorcycle Collision near Clinton Avenues
FRESNO, CA (July 14, 2023) – Tuesday evening, a motorcycle crash on Chestnut Avenue claimed the lives of Michael Connors and Arba Rene Smith.
The accident happened around 10:30 p.m., July 4th, along Clinton Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.
According to the reports, the driver of a vehicle, for unknown reasons, had hit a motorcycle carrying a Connors and Smith. The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to become trapped underneath the car.
First responders arrived at the scene and determined that the man had succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics transported the woman to a local hospital where she later passed away.
Police later identified the victims as 55-year-old Michael Connors of Fresno and 50-year-old Arba Rene Smith of Clovis.
Following the crash, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are working to determine if impairment played a role in the fatal crash.
