18-Year-Old Man Injured after Vehicle vs Pedestrian Collision near Juan Tabo
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (July 14, 2023) – Tuesday afternoon, Dominic Valencia was injured after being struck by a vehicle in a police pursuit incident.
The incident happened last July 11th shortly before 2:50 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Juan Tabo.
According to the Albuquerque Police Department, 18-year-old Valencia is wanted by the police and was in pursuit when he ran into the westbound lanes through eastbound.
Furthermore, Valencia was struck by an SUV that was headed eastbound. He suffered broken bones and other wounds.
Consequently, responding paramedics transported Valencia to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the authorities have confirmed that Valencia is wanted for two felony warrants related to drugs.
Also, the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Eubank were blocked during the investigation but were reopened by 5:30 p.m.
Following the crash, Valencia is still recovering and the authorities have yet to arrest him. Further investigation is still ongoing.
