NEWPORT BEACH, CA (July 14, 2023) – Wednesday morning, an unidentified driver died after a two-vehicle crash on Crystal Cove.
The accident happened at around 10:15 a.m. on July 5th along Pacific Coast Highway and Crystal Cove.
According to the CHP, they responded after receiving reports of a collision between a car and a truck although the events leading to the incident remain unknown.
Responding paramedics took the two drivers to a nearby hospital where the car driver later died due to the extent of their injuries.
At this time, officials have not released the name of the deceased pending notification of kin.
Furthermore, the crash closed the eastbound PCH for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the roadway has since reopened.
Newport Beach Police continue to investigate the fatal car crash on Crystal Cove and will release updates once available.
