13-Month Old Toddler Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Residence in Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD, AZ (July 13, 2023) – Thursday morning, Cyra Rose Thoeming was killed in a single-car accident on Western Drive.

The incident occurred in a gravel area next to a home on Western Avenue. Per reports, a mother set her child down in a car seat next to the vehicle as she attempted to maneuver out of a tight spot.

As the vehicle moved, the canopy of the car seat caught onto the front tire, causing the seat to fall backward. There, the vehicle ran over toddler, causing life-threatening injuries.

The mother then immediately contacted authorities. Paramedics arrived and transported 13-month-old Thoeming to Verde Valley Medical Center where she later passed away.

At this time, an active investigation to determine more information is still currently underway. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal car accident on Western Drive.

The loved ones of Thoeming set up a GoFundMe page to help the family with costs during this devastating time. She will be deeply missed by her community.
