Pedestrian-Auto Collision near Alameda Street Resulted in Death
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 12, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a pedestrian crash on Highway 101 left Elden Johnson dead.
The fatal collision happened on July 11th, at around 5:00 a.m. on Highway 101 at Alameda Street, near North Los Angeles Street.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear, but a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in the southbound lanes.
Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later identified the deceased man as 40-year-old Elden Johnson.
Following the crash, officials blocked at least three lanes of the southbound side of Highway 101 to perform cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, the far right lane remained open for motorists. The lane closures caused traffic in the area for hours afterward.
