2 Injured in Hit-and-Run on 14th Avenue [San Francisco, CA]
Suspect Hospitalized after Accidental Self-Inflicted Gunshot after Hit-and-Run near Clement Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (July 12, 2023) – Friday afternoon, a hit-and-run collision on 14th Avenue left a driver and a suspect hospitalized.
Authorities responded to the collision around 12:00 p.m., in the area of 14th Avenue and Clement Street. Police reported that a BMW collided with a vehicle and sideswiped another car before fleeing the scene.
According to witnesses, the suspects inside the vehicle were wearing ski masks.
Eventually, police managed to locate the suspect’s vehicle in the area of 15th Avenue and Geary Street. Officers spotted three people exiting the vehicle and fleeing on foot.
About 15 minutes later, officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area. Upon arrival, they discovered one of the suspects with a self-inflicted gunshot wound which appeared to be an accident.
Paramedics transported the victim from the initial collision to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The male suspect was also rushed to a hospital with a life-threatening wound.
