Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Accident near Coldwater Canyon Avenue
SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA (July 11, 2023) – Early Monday morning, one man was killed in a hit-and-run collision on Sherman Way.
Police responded to the scene around 1:00 a.m., near Coldwater Canyon Avenue on June 19th.
Following preliminary duties, officers determined that the driver of a blue SUV struck a pedestrian that was walking just west of Bellaire Avenue on Sherman Way.
Upon impact, the driver fled the scene without contacting authorities. Shortly after, the SUV was seen in a parking lot of a shopping center before the driver fled again.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the pedestrian, described as an Asian man around 35-40-years-old dead at the scene.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
The city of Los Angeles is offering a reward for up to $50,000 for further information about the suspect.
