2 Drivers Injured in Two-Car Accident near Panama Lane
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 11, 2023) – Thursday afternoon, injuries were reported after a 2-vehicle crash on Hammond Way.
Officers responded to the scene around 1:52 p.m., near Panama Lane.
Per reports, the driver of a Bakersfield Police Department patrol vehicle was heading east. For reasons under investigation, the patrol vehicle then collided with a red Honda that was making a southbound turn onto Hammond Way.
Medics then transported the officer and the other male driver to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Following preliminary duties, authorities determined that alcohol, drugs, and speed were not contributing factors. At this time, the Bakersfield Police Department is handling the investigation.
