1 Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision on Interstate 580 [Alameda County, CA]
One Pronounced Dead after Fatal Accident near 167th Avenue
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CA (July 10, 2023) – Monday morning, one victim was fatally struck in a pedestrian collision on Interstate 580.
Police responded to the scene around 9:35 a.m., on the westbound lanes of the freeway near 167th Avenue on June 26th.
Investigators say the driver of a vehicle struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the highway, just east of 167th Avenue. Upon impact, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their identity.
At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided about the fatal pedestrian collision on Interstate 580.
