Two-Vehicle Collision near Lorentz Road Left Several Hurt

JACKSON, CA (June 28, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, a head-on crash on Latrobe Road in Amador County left at least seven people injured. 

According to the report, the collision occurred in the area of Latrobe Road and Lorentz Road. Further investigation revealed that a westbound 2004 Honda Civic on Latrobe crossed over the center lines for unknown reasons. 

Consequently, the Honda collided with a 2002 Toyota Tacoma traveling east on the same road. 

Responding emergency personnel airlifted the Honda driver to UC Davis Medical Center and their passenger to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center. Both patients sustained major injuries. 

Additionally, Amador Fire officials requested an additional air ambulance for another person. It was unclear whether the remaining patients required hospitalization. 

Police are investigating if alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision. Anyone who witnessed the Latrobe Road head-on crash is asked to contact local authorities immediately.
