Brodee Champlain-Kingman Killed in E-Bike Accident on South El Camino Real [Encinitas, CA]
15-Year-Old Bicyclist Fatally Injured in Deadly Collision near Willowspring Drive
ENCINITAS, CA (June 28, 2023) – Thursday evening, Brodee Champlain-Kingman was killed in an E-bike accident on South El Camino Real.
The incident occurred just before 6:00 a.m., near Willowspring Drive on June 22nd.
Per reports, Champlain-Kingman attempted to make a left turn onto Santa Fe Avenue when the driver of a work van struck him.
Medics arrived and transported 15-year-old Champlain-Kingman to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla where he later died.
Meanwhile, the driver of the van remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor. At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
