Chain-Reaction Collision on Fair Oaks Avenue Left Three Fatalities and Multiple Injuries
SUNNYVALE, CA (June 26, 2023) – Monday, Tyler Tolentino Rasay, Paul August Dennig Jr., and Nicacio Negrete Gutierrez died in a crash.
The incident happened on May 22nd, at around 12:30 a.m. Dispatchers sent officers to the area of Highway 101 in response to a seven-vehicle chain-reaction crash.
According to reports, a pick-up truck headed northbound when it crashed into a center median. Following that, the vehicles that followed collided with the truck.
Furthermore, drivers got out of their vehicles to assist others when other oncoming vehicles struck them. The collision sent two of them into the southbound lanes and one person into the northbound lanes.
Consequently, the crash killed three people. Officials have identified them as 28-year-old Tyler Tolentino Rasay, 24-year-old Paul August Dennig Jr., and 53-year-old Nicacio Negrete Gutierrez.
Also, five other people suffered injuries and they were all transported to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, lanes on Hwy 101 were blocked between Fair Oaks Avenue and Lawrence Expressway during the duration of the incident.
