18-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Berkshire Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 26, 2023) – Early Tuesday morning, Joel Rigoberto Morales was killed in a 2-car accident on H Street.

Dispatchers received calls in the area just after 12:00 a.m., near Berkshire Road on June 20th.

According to reports, two vehicles collided at the intersection, sending one into a nearby canal. First responders located the vehicle submerged in water with an occupant still inside.

Emergency crews extricated the trapped occupant and pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities later identified him as 18-year-old Morales, of Bakersfield.

Meanwhile, the other driver involved did not sustain injuries and cooperated with officers. At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
