39-Year-Old Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Three Vehicles Near Howard Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (June 21, 2023) – Saturday night, a pedestrian crash involving three vehicles on Highway 180 fatally injures one person. 

The collision happened around 11:43 p.m. along Highway 180 and North Howard Avenue, in the section of Whitesbridge Avenue. 

Officers learned that a man stood in the middle lane of Highway 180, east of Howard before being struck by the first vehicle. Subsequently, the impact sent the man into the westbound lanes, where he was hit by two other vehicles. 

The three involved drivers stayed at the site of the crash and cooperated with the police. Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the man to Community Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to investigators, the 30-year-old pedestrian was intoxicated and was wearing dark clothing. In addition, authorities said the man walked three miles from a house party in Kerman prior to the incident. 

Currently, the identity of the deceased male pedestrian remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from relatives. 

Fresno County Officials continue to investigate the Highway 180 pedestrian crash. Police will release additional information as it becomes available to the public.
